in motion | the work
This showreel was created specially to be projected on the large free-standing screen in the grounds of Rochester Castle, marking the moment when the In Motion exhibition returned to Rochester.
It was edited against the clock. Phil Gomm remembers sitting upstairs in the department's newly opened Hasselblad digital lab, on the topmost floor of KIAD's Fort Pitt building — arriving early, staying late, and cursing the sheer scale and ambition of the final-year students' work. There was such richness in the material, and so much to do in so little time.
From that enclosed room at the top of the building, the work was being prepared for public space: outside, after dark, thrown large against the night, with Rochester Castle behind it — the students setting another dormant architectural site in motion.
